My parents were raving about this place and introduced me here.
In the restaurant, there was a bar area as well as regular tables. There were television screens on the walls with multiple sports on.
My family and I were seated at a table quickly. The waitress was efficient with her work - took our orders and gave us the food. The appetizer was taking longer to make than the main so she let us know that was the case, but that was okay with us.
We ordered Fred's pizza 6", seafood pasta, spaghetti with meat sauce, and grilled calamari. The pasta orders came with free breadsticks.
I am personally not a bread fan so I just thought the bread was okay. However, my mom and sister, who are actual bread fans, raved about the breadstick all throughout the meal. The grilled calamari is the most popular appetizer at this restaurant and definitely lives up to its hype for it was absolutely delicious. The seafood pasta and spaghetti with meat sauce were very enjoyable as well. Fred's pizza had a very distinct taste that I could only describe it as being too sweet. It could be a hit or a miss depending on the person. My parents personally liked it, I was okay with it, but my sister refused to take a bite afterwards.
Overall, I am so glad I came here. Definitely a place to come back for more pasta and calamari! The prices are a bit pricy for the portion but I say it was worth it. Highly recommend! -

Best chicken wings in Mississauga. Don't let anyone tell you differently. Every item on the menu is delicious. In particular, the grilled calamari is superb. Very busy place on days where there are football games or other major sporting events. Other than that, this place is dynamite!

I love Fred's Tuesday night oyster special. They have $10 glasses of Prosecco and the oyster shuckers come in with fresh oysters.
To top it off, their grilled calamari is the best I've ever tasted. Whenever you order an entree, they bring a little basket of bread. Dip that bad boy into the oil and you've got another great side dish. So delicious!
There's hasn't been one meal I haven't liked.
Service is top notch. The restaurant itself is clean. The only thing I'd say is that this restaurant is best for watching the game and not the type of place you go for conversation as it gets pretty loud. -

The more people that I talk to that live in Mississauga the more i'm realizing how popular Fred's really is. When driving if you blink you may miss it. Fred's is in a small plaza in a mostly residential area. Well this is not you local bar or is it?!?!?!. The best way to explain Fred's is it has the feel of a local family bar but the food and drink menu is that of a large bar in the city of Toronto. The menu has everything from your simple bar food right down to a fancy plate of seafood pasta. The bar is very well equipped with both import and domestics beers and liquor. I guess you are probably wondering how the food taste's. Well lets start by saying that Fred's has been rated the best grilled calamari in all of Peel Region many many times. I can see why it holds that name. Usually grilled calamari are rubbery and chewy and no taste. Fred's takes it to the next level. Grilled to perfection with a bit of char to get that BBQ taste. Then they are smothered with oil, chopped tomato and a few other things. That right there makes the calamari 5 start plus. The seafood pasta rates right u there with some of the better Italian restaurants out there. Fred's is one of those places that as soon as you go the first time you are sure to become a regular. That being said its gets busier ad busier and they don't take reservations so arrive early when attending especially during any sports game.

A large group of us came here for lunch. It was not very busy. Was able to sample a bunch of stuff on the menu. Nice little bar and our waitress was very nice. I can imagine its pretty busy on game night, lots of TVs and a big bar.
Sadly we had not been drinking at noon and noticed some of the food we ordered to be very so so. The prices were OK so we didn't feel bad.
Food:
Grilled Calamari: 1.5/5 Supposedly a famous dish and the reason we came here. Meh. It visually looked good but that's about it. The calamari was chewy and the lemon sauce was so overpowering. It should be called sour calamari. The calamari is breaded and drenched in the lemon sauce. Definitely get the lemon sauce on the side.
Poutine: 4/5 Standard poutine and the fries were decent. Was a decent size 2.
Gorgonzola Bacon Burger: 4/5 Pretty decent burger, needs more bacon.
White pizza: 1/5 Not recommended. Taste like grease, mush and bread. Prob should try something with tomato sauce.
Buffalo chicken wrap: 3/5 Nothing special.
wrap on special menu( was a beef wrap i think?): 3/5 nothing special either about a subway wrap quality.
Fish sandwich: 4/5 Quite yummy and messy. Oddly enough the onion rings were even better then the burger thou. Wish they gave a little more rings.
